Former Aussie tennis star and Channel 7 commentator John Fitzgerald says he’s worried about Bernard Tomic heading into the Australian Open.
“He hasn’t looked great in his warm ups,” Fitzy told the FIVEAA sports show, “and that worries me with Bernard.”
“The last few years when he’s done well at the Open he’s actually had some pretty good results in the tournaments leading up.”

“It’s a bit strange, I don t understand that. If you say one day you’ve been training and then the next week you say that you’ve lost 4.5 kilos, that sounds a bit weird to me.
“When you lose first round in Brisbane and then don’t play in the second tournament, it doesn’t give you a lot of game time.
“You’ve got to be a pretty talented person to be able to click into gear when the big one turns up if you haven’t got matches under your belt. That worries me with him.
“We’ll see. He’s got a bit at stake. His ranking’s dropped a little bit from its peak and he needs to win matches here to defend points from last year.”
