Premier Steven Marshall concedes he “probably got it wrong” when he slipped through Adelaide Airport and quietly flew out of the country on Monday.
Mr Marshall told FIVEAA’s Graeme Goodings on Wednesday:
“To clear that up we gazetted that in December last year. It’s not been a secret to anybody. I think I probably got it wrong. I probably should’ve done a press conference at the airport on the way out, but it was a busy time.
“We’d just had another cabinet meeting, which we convened for that morning… if I’ve got something wrong I absolutely apologise for that but the reality is this has been a trip which has been planned for a long period of time. It was gazetted in December last year it wasn’t hidden whatsoever.
“I took calls from the media while I was at the airport. It is an important trip for us. We’ve got to be doing everything we can to promote tourism and international students and investment in South Australia.”
