Vision of an object streaking across the sky over Tasmania has plenty of people talking, but authorities say there is a simple explanation.

According to abc.net.au, Lee-Anne Peters from Sorell, TAS, took the footage and said:
“It was very slow moving, not like the high jets I’ve seen before. I got out the binoculars and thought it must be a meteorite.
“I was sure it was something burning up from space… but now, I am sure it was just a plane with the sunrise highlighting its contrails.”
Airservices Australia agrees, saying the object in the video is simply an aircraft.
But others were sure there was a different explanation: perhaps a meteorite, space junk or maybe an alien spacecraft… not this time, believers!
