Driver ploughs into pedestrians on street in Germany, killing one

1 min read

According to reports from News.com.au, police have stated that an unidentified 35-year-old man drove a car into a group of pedestrians on a busy street in Heidelberg, Germany on the evening of February 25th (local time).

The car hit three members of the public: a 73-year-old German man, who has since been pronounced dead, a 32-year-old Austrian man and a 29-year-old Bosnian woman. No reports yet on the seriousness of the injuries to the two surviving victims.

After the attack, it is alleged that the man behind the wheel stepped out of the car with a knife in hand.

It is reported that he was then shot down by authorities and is currently in hospital where his wounds are being treated.

At present, officials do not believe this attack was an act of terrorism.

More on this horrible event as we have it.
