The Adelaide Strikers have unveiled their replacement player for injured England international Chris Jordan… Ish Sodhi.
Sodhi is a New Zealand leg-spinner who took 2-22 for his country in a T20 against Bangladesh — and claimed 3-36 in the second match of that series.
Sodhi would join the team on Monday night, the Strikers said in a statement.
The Big Bash approved Sodhi as a Strikers replacement player after Chris Jordan suffered a hamstring injury during the match against the Hobart Hurricanes.
“Jordan has a left hamstring strain which occurred during the Hurricanes match,” said Strikers physio John Porter.
“We are working with the England cricket team support staff to manage Jordan’s fitness to ensure that he will be fit for their T20 series against India beginning January 26.”
Porter also offered an update on injured fast bowler Kane Richardson:
“Kane has also resumed bowling and after another week in the nets we are hopeful that he will be available for selection for the match against the Renegades on the 16th,” he said.
