Adelaide Crows coach Matthew Nicks has revealed Daniel Talia and Chayce Jones will both miss while Brodie Smith will return for the club’s clash with Collingwood on Tuesday.
Nicks said on Monday:
“Talia will be managed. He’s done what he can to get up, but the smart call is not to risk him. He’s got some general soreness, so we’ll make sure we get that one right…
“Chayce – he won’t play this weekend. It won’t be a body management thing, it’ll be more about trying to free Chayce up, have a bit of time out of the game, see if we can get him back to his best footy which we haven’t seen over the last couple of weeks.
“He’s got some weapons that unfortunately he hasn’t been able to find over these last few rounds – sometimes a freshen up to take the weight off your shoulders. We’ll get him back in before the season’s out because he’s a very important part of our future.
“Brodie will play… it would be good to have Smithers getting back into the form we’re after. He’ll play a number of different roles. We might have a look at him across halfback at a point, maybe back in the midfield depending how we’re going.”
