The Adelaide Crows look set to have all of their first-round draft picks out of the senior side as FIVEAA’s Stephen Rowe says he is “losing faith” in the approach of new coach Matthew Nicks.
Following Adelaide’s loss to the Western Bulldogs on Sunday, Rowey told David & Will during Monday’s FIVEAA breakfast show:
“I don’t have words. That third quarter… I wanted to run flat out into a brick wall and knock myself out. Honestly… nothing short of what I would call football embarrassment. They’re 0 and 12.
“I’m losing faith in Matthew Nicks’ messaging, his system his game style and his method. They’re 12 games in – this isn’t all on him by the way.
“I still cannot see what in god’s name they’re doing and what they’re working on and where the improvement is. If McAsey gets rested – and he probably will – that’s all of their first-round picks playing in the 4x2s – Jones, McHenry, Fogarty and McAsey. Where’s the improvement? I like to see incremental improvement… I don’t even have a glimmer. I have moments in quarters, I see players with talent that do something, but as a collective I am scratching my head…
