Pilko’s Heard A Rumour About Gil McLachlan’s Pay Increase

Tony Pilkington opened up his beloved ‘rumour file’ on Tuesday’s FIVEAA morning show and pulled out a tidbit about the AFL CEO…

“Another rumour for you,” Pilko said. “The boss of the AFL, Gil McLachlan, apparently does a good job — somebody suggested his pay is $1.75 million a year.”

“I don’t know whether that’s true, but that’s the word around the traps — $1.75 million and they’re looking at increasing his pay to close to $2 million by the end of this season.

“Not a bad sort of a gig — and he gets free tickets to go to the football…. That’s a rumour around the traps, that Gil McLachlan’s pay increase could top nearly $2 million by the end of the football season.”
