Speaking at a press conference ahead of Port Adelaide’s game against St Kilda, coach Ken Hinkley good-naturedly laughed off a technical hiccup.
Partway through the interview a journalist retrieves a microphone that isn’t working and asks Ken to pause.
“Can we just wait one second, sorry mate. I swear it was fully charged.”
To which Ken says: “Looks like he’s just not quite ready for the press conference. Just a little bit off.”
“That’d be like me starting the game with 16 players.
“I’d get in trouble for that.”
