Graham Cornes Hits Back Following David Koch’s “Quiche” Comment

1 min read

Graham Cornes has come out swinging after Port Adelaide chairman David Koch teased the Adelaide Crows for “eating quiche and drinking chardonnay” while revealing he had asked for Port to be kept away from the Crows in their QLD AFL hub.

Cornesy said during the FIVEAA sports show:

“Kochie can be a real Richard Cranium sometimes… I’m with him on the point of why should they have to share accommodation, but then he throws in the ‘we drink beer and eat pies, you eat quiche and chardonnay.’ Many a true word is said in jest.

“I will bet you at Adelaide Oval when the Crows play there’s more pies eaten and more beer drunk than at any Port Adelaide game…

“It’s ridiculous having them in the same resort. Absolutely ridiculous. They’re there for five weeks… they have to hate each other… you want to have a bit of passion about the rivalry with your opposition…

“I’m with Kochie on the basis of, yeah, they should’ve split them up, but don’t pull this chardonnay quiche crap with us because we’re as manly as anybody.”
