Graham Cornes says anti-SA bias within the AFL will “crush us” and has called for a war to re-establish the agreement that all Adelaide Crows and Port Adelaide games will be live on free-to-air TV.
Asked on the FIVEAA sports show whether all Crows and Power games would be live on Channel 7 this season, Cornesy said:
“I will bet they’re not. They haven’t been told of any that won’t be, but that’s only the first four rounds. I will bet as in previous years Foxtel have done a deal with the AFL to get exclusive live rights to… two of each.
“We have had – ever since the advent of the Crows and Port Adelaide – a covenant with the AFL. We had a covenant. That’s the problem, the covenant has been broken and we need to re-establish that. We need to go back and go to war… that was set in stone.
“We’ve got to stand up because they will crush us. If we don’t stand tall and present our case and keep putting ourselves forward they will just crush us. Worse than that they will just ignore us.
“Every time they get a chance to smash the Crows or South Australian footy they will. It hits you in the face. You don’t look for it, you can’t avoid it.”
