Australian cricket star Glenn Maxwell is copping a hard time on Twitter after he averaged only two during the three-match one day series in New Zealand…
But instead of laying low, Maxwell is taking the criticism head on and firing back as good as he’s getting it.
In one tweet, Maxwell corrects someone who bagged him for averaging one in the NZ series:

“I’m not too bad with it. I sort of thrive off that sort of stuff, just looking for something I can reply to,” Maxwell told Fox Sports.
“I cop it on most days, which I expect. I generally sift through it each day and look for something funny I can reply to.”

“Some guys don’t have that tough skin to deal with that sort of stuff. I can understand why they get off Twitter,” he said.
“I actually really enjoy it. It’s part of the game.”

“It’s part of what you cop when you’re out on the field anyway and I certainly copped it in New Zealand, that’s for sure.
“It’s just trying to diffuse a situation and trying to bring some humour to it where there wasn’t a whole lot of humour before,” Maxwell said.
