Erin Phillips says she was shocked to be named co-captain of the Adelaide Crows women’s team.
The team voted on the captaincy following a group leadership session at a players camp in Darwin.
“It was just unbelievable,” Erin told the FIVEAA sports show. “It didn’t really sink in for a good 24 hours — I couldn’t believe it. Just absolutely honoured.”

Erin said training for the start of the season had been tough…
“Pre-season’s always a tough gig, and obviously my first AFL pre-season, which has been very, very challenging,” she said.
“I’ve really just enjoyed basically learning a whole new energy system which I didn’t know existed inside me.”
