Eddie Betts says his former Carlton teammate Chris Yarran’s AFL dream is still alive after Yarran was released from his contract with Richmond late last year to deal with personal issues.
“Yeah, I’ve had some contact with him,” Ed told the FIVEAA sports show.
“He’s back in WA living in Perth. He’s doing good. I think he’s going to play for a WAFL side over there — Swan Districts where he played when he was younger. He’s doing ok.
“He actually said to me, look at what Nathan Krakouer did. He gave up footy, went back to WA, got his life back on track and then gave it another crack and now he’s back paying for Port Adelaide.
“I guess Chris can look at someone like that and hopefully get his life back on track and then try again to play AFL footy.”

The Adelaide Crows announced on Wednesday they had signed Betts on a three-year extension.
“That happened in November,” Ed said…
“The club approached me and said, we want to have you for longer. So I said, oh sweet, get in touch with my manager. It went from there.”
