Port Adelaide CEO Keith Thomas says the club is monitoring tensions with North Korea and will consider alternative options in the event their China game is deemed too risky to play.
Port is scheduled to play the Gold Coast Suns in Shanghai in Rd 8, but as tensions in the region rise, Thomas said the club would not put any Australians at risk to play the game.
“You can’t ignore the circumstances that prevail in the world today,” he said on Tuesday.
“Right now we have had no advice to suggest that the game is at risk or we shouldn’t be going, and we’ll just keep bowling along until we’re told otherwise.”
