A Big Stoush Is Brewing Between the AFL And AFLW

1 min read

The “massive story” concerning AFLW players and their dispute with their union and the AFL will be “resolved in the next couple of days”, reports Caroline Wilson, but there a plenty of other issues that “won’t go away”, including who gets to use the best change rooms during a double header.

Caro has told Melbourne radio:

“The women are rightly saying why do we get the second rate change rooms? Most stadiums that they can do double headers at do have two sets of change rooms, but there is only one set that are A-grade. Why should the women get the B-grade ones?

“There is a small chance that the Richmond Carlton season opener… will be preceded by a Richmond Carlton AFLW game…

“The only possible way you can resolve the situation is by either putting the game so much earlier that they can both get to use the rooms… Unfortunately I don’t think there is any way the AFL will allow the Richmond and Carlton male players to not have a-grade changing rooms. It would be a massive gesture for the men…”
