The Adelaide Crows say they were prepared to keep Tyson Stengle on their playing list but the wayward Crow did not want to meet a club requirement to spend the 2021 season in the SANFL.
Adelaide Crows Head of Football Adam Kelly told Rowey’s Sports Show the club and Stengle had been working on Stengle’s “reintegration in to the football program” before announcing this week they were parting ways:
“Ultimately the two parties haven’t been able to reach agreement on that,” Kelly said on Wednesday. “We could’ve seen a future with Tyson on our list and were prepared to have him on our list in 21 and 22 but as a requirement of that we proposed he spend the 2021 season in the SANFL competition. That was something that was Tyson’s right to decline.
“He believes he should’ve been reintegrated into the program at a far sooner date than that. That was his desire and we couldn’t reach agreement on it so we’ve decided to part ways.”
