FIVEAA’s Stephen Rowe is recommending a pinch of salt after Champion Data ranked Adelaide Crows the second worst midfield in the competition.
Rowey told 9 News:
“On the surface you think with the calibre of players that have gone… they’re raw stats, it must be right. But then if you look at the year before when they do it, the number one ranked team was Melbourne. They finished 17th.
“If you think that a Milera’s going to step up, a Brodie Smith is going to step up, I love Ned McHenry and they’re all talking up Chayce Jones as the next paddy — put four in there, those numbers will soon head north, so I don’t put a lot of credence on it to be honest.”
“I think at their best they’re bottom of the top eight. I think realistically they’re a 9, 10, 11 and if the wheels completely fall off… holy hell!”
Adelaide’s was rated the number 15 AFL playing list overall, while Port Adelaide was number eight.
