Channel 9’s AFL Footy Show lost its battle with 7’s rival show The Front Bar in every major Aussie Rules city on Thursday night.
The combined numbers for Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth revealed 292,000 watched The Front Bar, while 248,000 tuned in to The Footy Show.
Here are the numbers by city:
MELBOURNE
The Front Bar 204,000
The Footy Show 172,000
ADELAIDE
The Front Bar 46,000
The Footy Show 38,000
PERTH
The Front Bar 42,000
The Footy Show 38,000
Earlier in the week former host Garry Lyon said Nine would be getting nervous about The Footy Show’s numbers.
“Channel 9, without wanting to sack the institution, would be worried about those numbers,” he said.
“I don’t see (The Front Bar), so I’m not qualified to comment, but it’s clearly doing well.”
The Front Bar also beat The Footy Show in the crucial Melbourne market last week.
