The Adelaide Crows revealed on Thursday morning they would head directly to Melbourne ahead of their season opener against Essendon on Friday.
Previously Adelaide would train at home before flying out, but the team will now have a light run in Melbourne on Thursday afternoon.
“We’ve decided we’ll train over in Melbourne this year, for the first game anyway,” coach Don Pyke said.
“We had some discussions with the players and they just felt — travel over in the morning, get organised, have a run later this afternoon and get ready to play.”
