Adelaide Crows captain Taylor Walker has brushed off suggestions he will lose the captaincy of the club, saying he’ll continue to do the job for as long as he can.
“I really enjoy being captain,” Tex said on Tuesday. “It’s a great honour to be able to lead this great footy club. I grew up barracking for this footy club, so I’m very passionate — I’m going to be a Crow for life. If I can continue to be captain for as long as I can, I’ll keep putting my hand up.”
On Monday Graham Cornes told FIVEAA he believed there was no doubt Rory Sloane would captain the club from 2019.
“Everyone’s entitled to their opinion,” Tex said in reply.
“He’s entitled to his opinion, it just depends on whether I listen to it or not. I’ve got a lot of people that I trust and until they tell me, I’m pretty confident I’ll continue to do the job.”
