The Tour Down Under’s stage three from Glenelg to Victor Harbor has been shortened due to extreme heat.
The stage will be cut by 26kms as Thursday is forecast to reach 41C.
Race director Mike Turtur said:
“The safety and welfare of the riders, spectators and everyone involved with the race is always our primary concern.
“We consulted with rider representative Adam Hansen and with our Chief Commissaire, and both agreed it would be sensible to shorten the stage distance.”
