St Kilda will reportedly replace the Gold Coast Suns to take on Port Adelaide in Shanghai in 2019.
According to The Advertiser:
“The Power’s new partner in China will be confirmed in Melbourne on Thursday as St Kilda — replacing Gold Coast, the rival in the first two breakthrough games in Shanghai. And the match at Jiangwan Stadium will be in June rather than mid or early May.
“This will ease the marathon run Port Adelaide has had in the past two years when it played 14 consecutive games after China in 2017 and 13 this season.
“Port Adelaide has stepped into the mid-season bye earlier than its rivals (bar Gold Coast) in the past two seasons. This has brought into question the fatigue factor for the Power players late in the home-and-away campaign.”
Reports first surfaced in September St Kilda could be the team to make the trip to China.
