Following the news Port Adelaide had signed former GC Sun Trent McKenzie, footage resurfaced of him launching a 70-metre torpedo through the big sticks.
In a 2011 video published by the Suns, Trent — aka ‘The Cannon’ — said long kicking had always “come naturally”.
In the video the young Sun easily goals from 50 and 65 metres, before taking aim from 70 metres.
“I reckon 70’s about my distance,” he says before letting rip.
