Essendon great Matthew Lloyd has let rip after Adelaide’s loss to Collingwood on Friday, saying captain Taylor Walker embarrassed himself and clipping the Crows for “whinging”.
Talking during an Access All Areas segment, Lloyd said:
“I heard they were whinging all week about they played on Etihad twice in the first three weeks, ‘We’re sore, we’re tired’ — well, they played that way.”
Lloyd was also scathing of Taylor Walker, and said the captain needed to make a statement against Sydney this Friday.
“He’ll want to be their toughest player because he lowered his colours.
“When the ball hit the ground he just didn’t want to compete,” Lloyd said. “He was just right off… this will give him sleepless nights — he’d be, as captain, so embarrassed by this one.
“It summed up their team. I thought Collingwood were dynamic and they were right off.”
