Port Adelaide premiership player and FIVEAA’s own Kane Cornes recorded a PB and took out top spot in his category at the Athletics SA State Champs on Wednesday night.
Kane ran the over-35 3000m race in 9min 2sec…
But he’s revealed the last minute advice his coach gave him before the event:
“Now you know you’re not allowed to tackle them,” Team Tempo’s Adam Didyk told Kane.
Great fun racing my 1st track event last night. Got around in a 3km PB of 9.02. Coach @teamtempoRun final instructions “now you know you’re not allowed to tackle them” pic.twitter.com/4HwKyrut5V

Kane has told The Advertiser running has helped fill the void left when he retired from the AFL after 300 games.
“When you play sport and you suddenly finish, I think it leaves a fairly big sort of void,” Cornes said.
“You think running is an individual sport, but a lot of my runs has been with Team Tempo and it’s a real team environment so it’s doing a good job of filling that void.
“I am more so competing against myself rather than anyone else, but it’s been a great experience.”
