Kane Cornes has questioned Channel 7’s coverage of the Hawks v Cats game, saying Cyril Rioli’s impact was over-exaggerated.
On Monday Kane tweeted that 7’s “love of Rioli is over the top”.
Channel 7’s love of Rioli is over the top. Great player but 1 kick, 0 goals and 2 tackles with 15m to go in last Q is a poor day at the office whoever you are. #AFLCatsHawks

And on Tuesday he was sticking by the comment.
“I think Leigh (Matthews) was really talking up Cyril’s influence yesterday,” Kane told SEN. “As I said in the tweet, he is a great player and we know he doesn’t have to touch the footy 20 times to have a big impact.”
“[But] If it was Jake Stringer or one of the more maligned players in the game, that had those numbers, I think we would all be really critical.
“I thought Leigh and Luke (Darcy), albeit they do a magnificent job Channel 7, I thought they were speaking up his influence.”
