Former Champ Says This Victorian Club Should Go Hard After Ollie Wines

1 min read

North Melbourne premiership player Brent Harvey says unsigned Port Adelaide star Ollie Wines would be a perfect fit at Essendon.

“What they need is a big inside midfielder,” Harvey told Future Stars. “I’d be throwing the kitchen sink and a little bit more at Ollie Wines.”

“I just hope they’ve got the salary cap room to go and get an inside midfielder and a little bit of polish.

“If you want to go and get a big-bodied midfielder, you have to give something up and I think Tom Bellchambers, I would put him up.

“You have Sam Draper and Matthew Leuenberger, you could go to the draft if you really need another ruckman.

“When you trade you’ve got to have currency and I think Bellchambers has still got that because teams will want a good ruckman.”

Harvey also recommended that the Bombers move along number six draft pick and South Aussie lad Aaron Francis.

“I’m a big believer of if a player doesn’t want to be at your football club, then let him go,” Harvey said.
