Development In Adelaide United’s Play For Tim Cahill

1 min read

Speaking on FIVEAA, sports reporter Mitch Cleary delivers the latest on Adelaide United’s interest in Tim Cahill.

“Big news in Adelaide tonight,” Mitch said on Wednesday.

“I’ve spoken a short time ago to Greg Griffin, the president of Adelaide United, and he ruled it out categorically — the club will not be chasing Tim Cahill.

“It looks likely his next move will be to the middle east. Their season runs until May, which gives him the perfect lead up to the June world cup next year.”

The report appears at odds with comments made to The Advertiser by United’s football GM Ante Kovacevic, suggesting the club would contact Cahill’s management on Thursday:

“We will be approaching his management team to see where it’s at,’’ Kovacevic told the paper.

“We’ll need to find out every detail about Tim and his intent before discussions go any further but yes we are keeping the option open.”
