The Richmond football club made an enquiry about Adelaide Crows player Brad Crouch but “didn’t initiate” the conversation, says Brad’s manager Alex McDonald.
Crouch’s name popped up last week in a shock trade whisper.
McDonald has told Trade Radio:
“They called out of courtesy because his name was linked with them… they didn’t initiate any conversation.
“He is contracted for another couple years. I’ve been in contact with the club (Adelaide), everyone is fine there.
“I think what happens at this time of year as we all know is they are players who have been starved of opportunity, been injured, or there’s a go-home factor.
“Sometimes there is a nice fit, players names pop up from time to time and they get spoken about.
“To the best of my knowledge, Brad is not going anywhere.
“He is really happy over there, lives with his brother, really excited about next year.”
On Wednesday, AFC list manager Justin Reid said he could “rule out trading Brad Crouch — we had a laugh about that rumour.”
