Adelaide Crows list manager Justin Reid says the club will trade wantaway star Mitch McGovern for the right price, but is adamant the club is “not in the business of giving players away”.
“We work hard to develop players and get them at the club,” Reid has told Trade Radio. “We’re not in the business of giving players away. If we can get something done, we’ll look at it, but McGovern is a contracted player.”
“We’re really disappointed when Mitch came to us asking for a trade. We think he is only just getting to where he can get to – Jeremy [McGovern] started doing really well at around 23.”
Meanwhile, as tipped, Reid confirmed Richmond’s Tyson Stengle has named Adelaide as his club of choice and ruled out trading Brad Crouch.
.@Adelaide_FC List Manager Justin Reid: I can rule out trading Brad Crouch. We had a laugh about that rumour. #NABTradeRadio:

.@Adelaide_FC List Manager Justin Reid: Tyson Stengle has lacked opportunity at Richmond. We will work through that in trade period, but he will add speed and goal sense to us, especially with Eddie Betts getting older. He has chosen Adelaide as his club of choice#NABTradeRadio
