Adelaide Crows head of footy Brett Burton say he is offended by suggestions the club has tried to cover up details of its mounting injury list.
“I find it offensive that anyone would say that we aren’t transparent and that we are trying to hide stuff,” Birdman told FIVEAA on Thursday. “The reality is that these guys are human, things change.”
“Yesterday for example Don Pyke does a press conference before training, we think we’ve got five blokes coming back from injury including Riley Knight — Taylor Walker obviously was hampered during the game on the weekend but moved alright earlier in the week.
“So before main training we think those guys should be fine based on what we’ve seen… and then Riley Knight pulls up sore towards the end of the session and so does Taylor walker.
“Things change, that’s the human body. I can feel good today and tomorrow morning I can wake up with a cold.
“I find it offensive that people would say we are deceptive and that we aren’t transparent because we’ve got no reason not to be.”
This week Taylor Walker, Matt Crouch, Luke Brown and Mitch McGovern were all ruled out, joining Rory Sloane, Brad Crouch, Brodie Smith, Wayne Milera and Riley Knight on the sidelines.
