AFL Hall Of Famer: DO NOT Bring Back Jack Watts This Week

2 min read

Aussie football great Terry Wallace doesn’t want to see Port Adelaide’s Jack Watts recalled to take on his old team Melbourne this weekend.

Watts was dropped back to the SANFL last week where he kicked three goals.

“Under no circumstances does he play,” Wallace has told SEN.

“The reason why is because it’s not about Jack Watts. It’s about your team.

“From the point of view of the team, they said they couldn’t play Watts and young Todd Marshall in the same forward line.

“You’ve got a kid who has gone through the most stressful period of his life, you’ve brought him back in for one game, surely you’re not going to drop him after one game and then take him back out of your side.

“The only reason for me you’d be bringing Watts back in is because they’re playing Melbourne, but it’s not about Jack.

“It shouldn’t be made about Jack, it should be made about the team, and the team thing to do is to give young Marshall a couple weeks, give Watts a couple weeks, and then make a decision on who is the guy going forward.”
