A New Port Face Could Get An Epic Job This Weekend

1 min read

Former Freo Docker Cam Sutcliffe could be thrown in the deep end if he debuts for Port Adelaide in the AFL against Brisbane this weekend.

Sutcliffe was picked up by Port in the midseason AFL draft and could get a run-with job on Lions star Lachie Neale, says Port co-captain Ollie Wines.

Ollie told FIVEAA Breakfast on Friday:

“He’s been terrific this year coming in as the Magpies captain as a contracted player… he’s been doing some tagging over the last month to six weeks in the SANFL.

“I imagine if someone was going to play on Lachie Neale they may think of bringing Suts in to tag. I think Lachie Neale averages something ridiculous, like 37 or 38 possessions against us over the last five weeks.

“It might be something Ken wants to look at.”

Sutcliffe was included in Port Adelaide’s squad on Thursday, which will be trimmed on Friday afternoon.
