Hamish Hartlett’s manager says the Power star was disappointed to hear his name pop up in trade speculation -- and confronted the club about it.

“He was disappointed when he heard the speculation,” Michael Doughty tells the FIVEaa sports show ...

“He went and confronted the club about it.”

Doughty said the club had quizzed Hartlett about his interest in a possible trade.

“Port have asked the question, would he be interested in it …

“Nothing has been tabled. Port haven’t gone to the market -- and neither have we.

“Hamish can have a couple of weeks to digest it all. We’ll sit back down and if that’s what he wants to do -- explore his options -- then I’m sure Port will help that happen,” Doughty said.

He said the public chatter about Hartlett’s future was unwanted …

“Publicly we wouldn’t have liked this to come out like this -- and give him some time to have real clarity about what he wants to do.

“He loves Adelaide and he’s got Port Adelaide in his blood. It’s going to be a tough decision if he decides to go.”

But Doughty stressed no decision has been made yet.

“I’m going to let him have two weeks to think about it. The last thing you want to be doing after you’ve had a poor year is deciding your future -- he needs some time to think about that.”
