Adelaide Crows CEO Andrew Fagan says he was stunned to find himself on the front page of the local paper.

The Advertiser reported on Thursday that Fagan had written to members of the pricey Premiership Club asking them to make sure guests who support rival clubs keep a lid on “vocal” supporting.

“I seriously couldn’t believe that was on the front page -- or in fact on any page,” Fagan told Rowey and Bicks on FIVEaa.

“We have no dramas with opposition supporters supporting as passionately as they might like.”

“You know me,” Fages said, “I don’t mind a bit of banter and I certainly don’t mind it between supporters.”

Andrew explained:

“What we did was just remind people that aggressive, offensive or derogatory comments made towards anyone … regardless of which team they support is inappropriate.

“We had a few incidents of guests who behaved, in our opinion, quite inappropriately -- nothing to do with the supporting of their team.

“It was the way in which they carried themselves. The fact it ran as a story was disappointing.”
