Asked on FIVEaa about his future at Adelaide, vice captain Rory Sloane trotted out a familiar line that has sent shivers down the spines of Crows fans.

“I’ve got no timeline on it,” Rory said on Thursday. “I’m not going to put a timeline on this sort of thing. It’s a contract I’ll have to think long and hard about with Belinda. Coming to the end of my career you’ve certainly go to look at what’s best for yourself.”

“I’ve got a whole year to go. I’ve never been in a rush before or let media decide when I should get my contract done. That’s a decision Belinda and I will work through over the start of the year and that kind of thing.

“I’ve never been in negotiations any earlier than a year left in my contract. To do any earlier is probably a bit silly.

“That’ll certainly work its way out. We both love Adelaide -- absolutely enjoy our time here. That’s where it’s at.”

Crows fans didn’t love what they heard -- starting with Graham Cornes.
