Port Adelaide’s comments about big-bodied midfielder Sam Powell-Pepper translate as “yes, he’s on the table,” says Magpies premiership captain Tim Ginever.

On Wednesday PAFC’s Chris Davies said of Powell-Pepper:

“There’s been a lot of talk with regard to Sam… we’ve contracted a player who we highly value and unless there’s a specific reason for him to go I’d be suggesting that he’s going to be at our club into the future.

“But we want to make sure we’re making the right calls for the club. We want to look to make decisions for our next premiership team. We don’t approach this period saying no one’s on the table or no one’s off the table.

“It’s an approach to say we want to get better at the end of it. We’re open minded.”

Speaking about the comments, Timmy G told the FIVEaa sports show:

“The translation: yes, he’s on the table. In short. That’s probably the translation of that.

“They’re looking at it and they’re saying we’ve got a lot of in and under midfielders, perhaps we need a bit more skill and maybe some outside run.

“Perhaps that’s where the trade talk is going on about Orazio.”

MARK BICKLEY: “A lot of Bombers people think their midfield needs beefing up, so maybe it could be a switcherooney there.”
