The prospect of a former Richmond captain filling the Adelaide Crows’ vacant football manager role is “not the worst idea”, says Mark Bickley.

Following reports linking Wayne Campbell -- most recently football boss at GWS -- with Adelaide, Bicks told the FIVEaa sports show:

“The reason that’s been spoken about is most people are thinking the GWS Giants and Wayne Campbell are going to part ways…

“And then people are joining the dots and saying Adelaide are looking for a footy boss. Here’s a bloke who was at the Giants last year with Matthew Nicks so there’s obviously a bit of trust there. Clearly doing a few things right, got them to a grand final so must run a reasonable program.

“At a time when you’re struggling to find experienced people I wouldn’t have thought that would be the worst idea.”

Crows CEO Andrew Fagan told FIVEaa earlier this month the club wouldn’t be rushed into appointing a new footy boss after parting ways with Brett Burton.
