Mark Bickley Tips The 2018 AFL Top 8

Dec 14, 2017

Admitting it was “crystal ball stuff” so far out, Mark Bickley’s had a crack anyway at picking next year’s AFL top eight.

Here’s how he sees the two local clubs doing.

Adelaide will remain one of the league’s top sides despite losing Jake Lever and Charlie Cameron, says Bicks.

“They’ve got enough players to cover that… I’m expecting a big year.

“I’m expecting Wayne Milera Junior to have a cracking year. I would like to see Wayne Milera play across halfback… I think they need some good ball users across half back.”

“They really only have to improve by a game or so [to make the top four], and there’s some ability to do that, I think. They’re one of the few teams that do have some genuine depth, so they could perhaps cover injuries if they were to get some.”

“I’m going to say Sydney will finish on top,” Bicks said. “Buddy’s still going pretty well. I like [Callum] Mills and [Isaac] Heeney, I think they’re going to be the lifeblood of that side. Their midfield’s going to be strong. They’ve got a bunch of younger players that have got some improvement in them. I really respect John Longmire as well.”
