Adelaide Crows premiership captain and FIVEaa’s Mark Bickley says Jeff Kennett is on a “collision course” with the AFL after the Hawthorn president spoke out against a move to shorten halftime from 20 to 15 minutes.

Bicks has told the FIVEaa sports show:

“The first time this came out he teed off saying the players will hate it, coaches will hate it… the players and Alastair Clarkson came out and said it was a good idea.

“Now he’s changed tack and said what about the poor fans. When was the last time Jeff Kennett bought a beer at the MCG?

“I just feel like he’s on a collision course. Whatever the AFL says he seems to take the other tack.

“There’s a billion dollars coming in from the broadcasters. That’s a fair say at the table. I would’ve thought that five minutes at halftime is not a big price to pay to maintain that type of sponsorship.”
