News Ltd footy writer Michelangelo Rucci is tipping one Crows player will try and break his contract and leave the club by the end of 2018 -- but it's unlikely to be Mitch McGovern.

“I’d be intrigued if by year’s end there isn’t one Adelaide player that seeks to break his contract in what would be a win-win deal for Adelaide and the player and whichever club he goes to,” Rucci told FIVEaa on Wednesday.

But Rucci said he didn’t it believe it would be Mitch McGovern, who Sam McClure has reported wants out of AFC.

“For my money I think [McClure] stretched it a little far,” Rucci said.

“I agree with him that the McGovern issue was there in October, certainly was still hot then. But for my money I can’t imagine [McGovern] doesn’t play for Adelaide next year.”

But according to Rucci, McGovern’s manager has said he is hearing noise about possible movement at the Crows.

“He did highlight we know there is a lot of rumbling about what is happening with Adelaide, and that probably does happen when you get a losing streak like the one they’re in and we’re saying this team is not the team it should be.

“But he’s quite adamant it was ridiculous to put Mitch McGovern in that frame.”
