Former Crow Brent Reilly has paid tribute to the efforts his late coach Phil Walsh went to after Reilly suffered a career-ending head knock.

“The times that I woke up in my hospital bed, he was there,” Brent told SEN. “He was always there by my side. He came in every day, he text me every day. He came around to my house when I was at home and he was just super to me.

“He was a really big support to my wife, Jamie, and my family who live in Melbourne.

“He clearly helped me recover and he gave me a good opportunity to be part of the coaching panel in 2015.”

Reilly has returned to the Crows as a development coach.
