Follow the tales and trails of the Vikings, behold the majesty of Scandinavia’s landscapes, while enjoying the modern culture and liveliness of the cosmopolitan cities.

Enjoy a smorgasbord of Scandinavian cities on a trip through postcard-perfect scenery, as you explore the charming northern European countries that make up this region. With cobbled streets, soaring snow-covered mountain peaks, copper spires, scenic fjords and boulevards lined with bohemian shops and galleries, this region is where medieval meets modern and natural beauty reigns supreme.

Laced with graceful canals and delightful architecture, Copenhagen is a cosmopolitan city with a delightful blend of old and new. Wandering through the picturesque city is like stepping into a fairy-tale. Explore maze-like streets and cobble-stoned alleyways of the city centre on foot or bike or see the city from a different perspective on a relaxing canal boat tour. Retreat to Rosenborg Castle Garden, where its spectacular flowerbeds are awash with colourful blooms in summer.

Visit Amalienborg Palace - official residence of Denmark’s much-loved monarchy; wander through the magical Tivoli Gardens; stroll along the colourful harbour and dine in one of many fine eateries and witness the Little Mermaid - a statue inspired by the fairytale written by Denmark’s own, Hans Christian Andersen. Visit the popular writer’s birthplace and home in Odense, a town just outside of Copenhagen.

Onto Norway, explore Kristiansand’s charming old town or the quaint fisherman’s villages and colourful wooden houses nearby. The scenic drive from Kristiansand to the pretty city of Stavanger is sure to delight as it weaves by fjords and lakes. Island-hop from Stavanger to Bergen; sail across breathtaking fjords and pass islands on this spectacular patch of coastline. A highlight of Norway is the delightful city of Bergen. Perched between the sea and seven hills, Bergen offers a heady blend of natural beauty, history and culture. Visit the lively fish-markets, the 13th century Haakon’s Hall or ride the funicular for magnificent panoramic views.

Admire the scenery on a train journey to Myrdal that ascends nearly 3,000 feet above sea level on the famous Flåm railway. With awe-inspiring mountain scenery, snow-capped peaks, lush green pastures and cascading waterfalls – this is nature at its finest. Follow the stunning Sognefjord through the incredible glacier country, enjoying marvellous views of Geirangerfjord as you descend to Geiranger village. Breathe in the fresh mountain air as you spend time surrounded by unbelievably pristine scenery.

Enjoy long summer days as you wander around the sophisticated city of Oslo. Be impressed by the medieval fortress of Akershus. Built originally to protect Oslo, it was also used as a prison. Visit the fascinating and unique Vigeland Sculpture Park, home to 192 sculptures and named after the talented artist of the same name who was obsessed with human form.
