City Stay Budapest

Thanks to Phil Hoffmann Travel.

A city divided by the Danube River, Budapest is the “Pearl of the Danube” and considered one of the most beautiful capital cities in the world.

See & Do

A highlight of any visit to Budapest is a visit to one of the city’s many baths. The biggest is the Széchenyi Thermal Baths while the prettiest is the art nouveau Gellért Baths. Stroll down the leafy Andrássy Avenue and admire the beautiful buildings along the way before ending up in City Park. A night cruise along the Danube showcases the illuminated grandiose buildings of the House of Parliament and Chain Bridge as their reflections shimmer prettily in the river.

Stay & Play

Aria Hotel Budapest
is an impressive luxury boutique hotel located on the Pest side of the Danube, next to the majestic Saint Stephen’s Basilica. As well as buffet breakfast, guests are also treated to complimentary afternoon wine and hors d’oeuvres. A unique art nouveau landmark, the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest is a grand hotel, breathtakingly restored, and centrally located at the foot of Chain Bridge. Hotel Palazzo Zichy is a former 19th century palace converted into contemporary in Budapest’s Palace District.

Eat & Drink

For an authentic no frills experience, follow the locals to the canteen-style Fakanál in the Great Market Hall for traditional Hungarian dishes. Borkonyha is a reasonably priced Michelin-star restaurant where you can sample dishes for a small cost. Ruin bars – set up in old abandoned buildings - have become an iconic part of Budapest’s nightlife. The eclectic Szimplakert is one of the most famous and liveliest, while Mazel Tov is an elegant spot to enjoy a drink or meal.

Budapest’s main shopping areas are in Pest’s city centre. Váci Street is a pedestrianised precinct and one of Budapest’s most famous shopping streets featuring several fashionable shops, restaurants and cafés. You’ll find upscale boutiques like Louis Vuitton and Burberry on Andrássy Avenue while Király Street is Budapest’s design street and packed with funky boutiques and modern art galleries. Souvenirs can be found at the Great Market Hall or the shop - Memories of Hungary, near the Basilica.
