- 1 KG (APPROX 5 – 6) BROWN ONIONS – CUT IN HALF AND SLICE

- MELT 60GMS (APPROX 1 TABLESPOON) BUTTER & 2 TABLESPOONS OLIVE OIL IN HEAVY BASED POT

- COOK ONIONS ON MEDIUM HEAT FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES UNTIL SOFT

- ADD 2 TEASPOONS BROWN SUGAR, STIR THROUGH AND COOK FOR ANOTHER 10 MINUTES

- ADD 2 TABLESPOONS PLAIN FLOUR, MIX THROUGH ONIONS & COOK FOR 2 MINUTES

- MAKE 4 CUPS BEEF STOCK (USE STOCK POWDER OR CUBES AS PER DIRECTIONS ON PACK)

- ADD TO POT, STIR THROUGH, BRING TO BOIL THEN REDUCE HEAT AND SIMMER FOR 15 MINUTES

- CAN ADD 2 BAY LEAVES FOR EXTRA FLAVOUR

- TO SERVE, TOAST BREAD & CUT INTO SMALL SQUARES, TOP WITH GRATED TASTY CHEESE. SERVE SOUP INTO INDIVIDUAL BOWLS, PLACE CHEESE TOAST ON TOP OF

SOUP AND PUT UNDER GRILLER TO MELT CHEESE…DELICIOUS!
