Owner Says Sorry Following “Teething Problems” At The Bend Race Track

Aug 27, 2018

Sam Shahin has offered a profuse apology to anyone caught up in the traffic delays following the first ever Supercars event at The Bend over the weekend.

More than 40,000 fans flocked to three days of racing at the new facility, which was built by the Shahin family’s Peregrine Corporation.

Mr Shahin told FIVEaa’s Leon Byner on Monday:

“I just want to say to everyone who attended this first Supercar event… you’ve made us proud and you’ve made the state proud. We were on show to the nation and to the world and, wow, what a spectacle we put on.

“I understand the feedback and the frustration and upfront I’ve got to sincerely apologise to anyone who was inconvenienced by some of the hassles with traffic out.

“I really hope it doesn’t tarnish what was an historic and magnificent weekend.

“We will learn form the experience and we will do it better next time.

“These are teething problems. I again sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, apologise to anyone who was inconvenienced.”
