Brussel Sprouts with Bacon and Chestnuts

Serves 6 – 8

"This is my favourite way of serving Brussel Sprouts and even those who don’t like Brussel Sprouts are hooked once they try it." -Rilka

Ingredients

1 kg Brussel Sprouts washed and trimmed

1 x 240g Tin of whole chestnuts

250 g Bacon diced

1 tablespoon Olive oil

Salt and Pepper

250ml Water

Method

In a large fry pan heat a little oil and brown the bacon.

Add the Brussel Sprouts with about a cup of water & place the lid on the pan - allow to cook for 15 minutes or until the sprouts are just starting to soften.

Remove the lid, add the whole chestnuts, season well and heat through the chestnuts.

This is a great side dish with Goose or Turkey.
