Ryan Fitzgerald recalls the time his then Swan teammate (now Port Adelaide assistant) Matthew Nicks copped a spray from notoriously fiery coach Rodney Eade.

“There was talk that [Nicks] was talking with the Crows at the time in getting a trade at the end of the year… it was only whispers," Fitzy told David and Will on FIVEaa.

“He played a bad game, and Rocket in front of everyone after the game: ‘Matty Nicks -- and there’s talk that you want to go to Adelaide. Go to Adelaide! We don’t want you, pi** off!’ -- in front of everyone. It was full on.”

Fitzy himself also caught Eade’s eye a few times:

“He always used to say, ‘Ryan Fitzgerald… the bloke that failed plasticine in kindergarten.’

“He had some rippers…

“Stefan Carey was ‘105kgs of fairy floss… if I had a baseball bat I would take it to your head right now’ -- and that was at training!”
