Some Extraordinary Revelations Have Come Out About Clive Palmer’s Advertising Blitz

May 13, 2019

Clive Palmer’s all out advertising campaign has reached fever pitch in the final week of the federal election campaign amid revelations he has attempted to purchase “entire ad breaks from radio stations” to spruik his United Australia Party.

On Monday Palmer had advertising takeovers of multiple newspapers and websites around the country, on top of the 150,000 television ads he was expected to run during the campaign.

FIVEaa Breakfast’s Will Goodings said during Monday’s Breaking @ 8 segment:

“Can you buy an election? Are we seeing it before our eyes? We are seeing an advertising binge the likes of which we have never seen before in Australia by a private individual.

“For Breaking @ 8 this morning we can tell you that whatever he spent to that $50 million mark he has spent more and sought to spend a great deal more.

“Not only did he get the front page and pages two and three in The Advertiser this morning, he’s appeared in every ad break on radio around Australia and sought to buy entire ad breaks from radio stations around the country, which has not happened to my knowledge ever before.

“He is outdoing the major parties in election advertising just about anywhere you can put it.”
